Privacy Policy
Last updated July 26, 2026
Mailxus is a free, receive-only temporary email service you can use without an account. An address never expires and can be reopened with its access token, while individual messages are removed after about 24 hours. We do not require your name to use the service or build advertising profiles. We process limited technical data, including your IP address and a browser-generated device fingerprint, to operate and secure the service, prevent abuse, and respond to valid legal requests. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and your choices.
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Mailxus (mailxus.com, "Mailxus," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and stores information when you use our temporary email service. Please read this policy before using Mailxus. If you do not want your information handled as described here, do not use the service. Your use is also governed by our Terms of Service.
Anonymous use, no account
You can create and use a temporary address without registering. There is no account, sign-up form, login email address, password, or Google or other OAuth login. We do not build a profile tied to your identity. Inbox access is controlled by an access token stored in your browser, not by a name or login. Knowing or guessing an address is not enough to open its inbox.
Technical data we process
Mailxus automatically processes limited technical data when you use the service: your IP address, the approximate country inferred from it, your browser identification string (User-Agent) and language settings, and a device fingerprint generated in your browser. Cloudflare also processes technical data as our infrastructure and security provider. We use this data to route traffic, keep the service available, apply rate limits, and prevent automated abuse, such as bots creating addresses in bulk. We retain limited records of address creation and inbox access to prevent and investigate abuse and respond to valid legal requests.
Your email and its lifetime
Addresses are created on demand and never expire. You can reopen an address later with its access token. Individual messages are stored temporarily and removed after about 24 hours. Mailxus is receive-only and cannot send mail. Our systems process message content only to receive, store, and display messages in your inbox. Mailxus staff do not read your messages.
Your access token
Reading an inbox requires its access token. Only someone who holds the token can open that inbox, so knowing or guessing an address is not enough to read its messages. Keep the token private because anyone who has it can read the inbox. The token is stored in your browser and is not linked to an account. If you lose it, the inbox cannot be recovered or reset because there is no account.
Data stored in your browser
The list of addresses you save and their access tokens is stored only in local storage or IndexedDB, which are storage areas built into your browser. Mailxus does not maintain that saved-address list or store those tokens on its servers. Clearing the site's browser data removes the saved list from that browser. The list is not automatically available in another browser or on another device, and removing it does not cause an address to expire.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, we store the name, email address, and message you choose to provide so we can read and respond to your inquiry. The saved contact-form record does not include your IP address. We use the submitted information only to handle your inquiry and related records.
Cookies and tracking
Mailxus does not display ads, use tracking cookies or other cross-site tracking technologies, sell your data, or build advertising profiles. We may store a preference, such as your language, in your browser so the site works as expected.
Data security
We apply reasonable technical safeguards, including HTTPS for connections to the Mailxus website, rate limiting, and firewall protection against abuse. Inbox access is protected by an access token. No online service is completely secure, so do not use a temporary address for sensitive or important communications.
Data retention
An address never expires, but individual messages are removed after about 24 hours. We retain technical records only as long as reasonably necessary to prevent or investigate abuse, respond to valid legal requests, and meet legal obligations. We retain contact-form submissions only as long as reasonably necessary to handle the inquiry and maintain records required by law. Data saved in your browser remains there until you remove it or clear the site's browser data.
Your choices
You can stop using Mailxus at any time. On the Saved addresses page, you can delete an address. Deleting it disables the address on our servers and on every device, and it cannot be undone. Clearing your browser data is different: it removes only the copy saved in this browser. The address itself stays active, and you need its access token to open it again. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to appeal our response to a request. Contact us to exercise an applicable right. We may be unable to fulfill a request if we cannot reasonably verify you or identify information associated with you.
Children
Mailxus is not intended for children under 13, and children under 13 may not use the service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13, including through the contact form, we will delete it as required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide any additional notice required by law. The revised policy applies from its stated effective date.
How we disclose information
We disclose limited information to Cloudflare as needed to provide infrastructure, deliver traffic, and protect the Service. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with valid legal process, investigate abuse, or protect the rights, safety, and security of Mailxus, its users, or others. If Mailxus is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to this Privacy Policy. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
